The following figures provide an indication of the fees which may be charged by barristers at Temple Court Chambers for Public Access work.
These figures are estimates and are not quotations.
All figures exclude VAT. VAT will be added where the barrister instructed is VAT registered.
General Advice and Drafting
- Initial conference/advice

- Written advice
- £500–£2,500
- Drafting straightforward court or tribunal documents
- £350–£1,500
- Drafting complex pleadings, grounds, skeleton arguments or other substantial documents
- £750–£3,500
- Hourly rate where applicable

Employment Tribunal Cases
- Initial conference and advice

- Preparation for a preliminary hearing

Immigration Appeals

Family Financial Disputes

Fees will depend particularly upon the value and complexity of the assets, number of documents and anticipated length of the hearing.

Why Might the Fee Vary?
For an individual quotation, please contact:
- the barrister's experience and seniority
- the complexity of the legal or factual issues
- the volume of documentation
- the number of witnesses
- the value or importance of the case
- the number and length of hearings
- the amount of preparation required
- whether expert evidence is involved
- whether additional written submissions are required
- the location of the hearing
- the urgency of the instructions
- whether work is required during evenings, weekends or public holidays
- significant changes to the client's instructions
- additional work which could not reasonably have been anticipated when the original fee was agreed
- developments in the proceedings caused by the court, tribunal, opposing party or another third party
A fee will be agreed with the client before the relevant work is undertaken.
Where circumstances change and additional work becomes necessary, the client will normally be informed of the additional work and proposed fee before that work is undertaken.
